Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday praised the Border Security Force (BSF) for its frontline role during Operation Sindoor, declaring that BSF personnel not only defended the border with determination but also responded strongly to Pakistani actions whenever required. Speaking at the Sanchu Border Outpost in Rajasthan’s Bikaner sector along the India-Pakistan border, Shah said the force played a crucial role in boosting public confidence in sensitive border regions during the operation.

Addressing BSF personnel stationed at the outpost, Amit Shah said the force upheld its long-standing tradition of defending the nation under difficult circumstances and ensured that residents living near the international border did not lose morale during heightened tensions.

“Everywhere BSF took charge, they stood firm, not just stood firm, BSF also made a huge contribution in maintaining the morale of the citizens of border districts, and wherever needed, BSF personnel also gave a befitting reply to Pakistan, which has always been your tradition,” Shah told the personnel.

Shah recalls strategic significance of Sanchu post

The Union Home Minister also underlined the historical importance of the Sanchu Border Outpost, calling it a site deeply connected with India’s military history. He said the post occupies a respected place in the legacy of India’s border defence operations and expressed pride in interacting with personnel deployed there.

Amit Shah said the location had earned recognition through its role in past conflicts and added that standing on the same ground and addressing BSF personnel was personally significant for him.

BSF role praised amid heightened border tensions

During his interaction with troops, Amit Shah highlighted the role played by BSF personnel in maintaining stability in border areas during the operation. He said the force remained resilient under pressure and continued safeguarding border populations while responding decisively to hostile actions.

The Home Minister’s visit comes amid continued emphasis by the Centre on strengthening border preparedness and recognising the contribution of security forces deployed in sensitive sectors along the India-Pakistan frontier.
